Four Rules. Every Time.
Dry ice is a powerful cooling tool, but it demands respect. Follow these fundamentals every time it's handled, stored or transported.
Insulated Gloves Only
Always use insulated gloves or tongs. Direct skin contact can cause frostbite injuries in seconds.
Maintain Ventilation
Dry ice sublimates into CO₂ gas. Keep the area ventilated and never work with it in a sealed room or vehicle cabin.
Never Airtight Containers
Store dry ice in an insulated but ventilated container. Sealed, airtight containers can build pressure and rupture.
Transport Appropriately
Crack a window for airflow when transporting dry ice in a vehicle, and never carry large quantities in a closed cabin.
